On the Road Again

  • Mood: Busy, but happy!
  • Music: Mideaval Babes

Well, we are getting ready to hit the road for a bit of a vacation!  Alex is already in Winston-Salem at Mom's, and Kendall has spent the weekend in Charlotte with his friend and mentor, Kevin, and will get to Mom's tomorrow.  Faith and I will head out probably Tuesday morning.  We will be at Mom's for a few days, then on Friday, we will drive up to Delaware to visit the Wygants.   We are all really looking forward to this trip.

While we are in Delaware we are planning on taking the train into New York City for the day.    That is going to be soooo cool!  The kids have never ridden a train, and I've not been to NYC in over 20 years (yeah, I'm really getting OLD) so it will be a blast.  We are planning on going to see "Ground Zero", but are also planning on doing other stuff, like visiting St. Patrick's Cathedral and F.A.O. Schwartz!  If time and money allow, we may try to see a show, as well.

Amber and Jeff have postponed their wedding, so I don't know when she will be moving out now.  She says it will be soon.  Her boys are here this month, and they are doing really well, but it is just really hard for me to have 2 extra kids in the house.  They are ALL boys. . .very loud and active.  I'm just not used to that.

The debate between Protestantism and Catholicism rages on between me and Christan.  He really has a lot of issues with the Catholic Church, and I understand and respect that.  However, I have done a LOT of research, and am convinced that the Catholic Church is not in error, and am very glad to be "home".  Gaylon and the kids are very glad to be there, too.  Alex loves it the most, and even threatened to become a priest the other day after babysitting Victoria all day.  He explained that he didn't want any children, and if you got married you were supposed to procreate, and he is absolutely not interested in procreating!    I got very tickled with him, even though he was dead serious.

I have a ton to do before we leave town, but wanted to check in and let everyone know what is going on, for those who might actually read this journal and keep tabs on us!  (I know Anna and Aunt Bobbie check it from time to time. . . thanks!)
